Gerente de Transparencia Climática
Mariana Gutiérrez Grados está a cargo de diseñar, implementar y monitorear la agenda de transparencia climática de ICM y de contribuir al desarrollo de propuestas, planeación y seguimiento de alianzas estratégicas con actores clave de proyectos relacionados con la mitigación del cambio climático.
Es el punto focal en México y co-autora del Perfil de País del Reporte Climate Transparency Report (antes Brown to Green). También realiza aportaciones técnicas y políticas a iniciativas internacionales que contribuyen a la rendición de cuentas como el Índice de Desempeño del Cambio Climático de Germanwatch y el Reporte de Brechas de Emisiones del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente. Adicionalmente, ha contribuido al diseño de procesos instrumentos de política climática con una perspectiva de transparencia y rendición de cuentas. Como representante de ICM, Mariana forma parte de redes internacionales y regionales como Climate Action Network (CAN) y el hub de América Latina y el Caribe del Balance Global Independiente (iGST LAC hub).
Desde 2011, Mariana ha colaborado con asociaciones internacionales, centros de investigación y organizaciones sin fines de lucro. En 2022, Mariana fue Coordinadora de proyecto del Secretariado Internacional de Climate Transparency en Berlin, (Alemania), en donde lideró la estrategia de comunicación de dieciséis socios y participó como co-autora del Reporte de Transparencia Climática 2022.
Mariana es licenciada en Relaciones Internacionales por el Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Ciudad de México (ITESM, CCM) y maestra en Derecho Ambiental y Políticas Públicas por el Centro de Investigación y Aprendizaje del Medio Ambiente (CIAMA).

Mariana Gutiérrez is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring ICM’s climate transparency agenda and contributing to developing proposals, planning and following strategic alliances with key stakeholders for climate change mitigation projects.
She is the focal point in Mexico and co-author of the Country Profile of the Climate Transparency Report (formerly Brown to Green). She also provides technical and policy inputs to international initiatives that contribute to accountability, such as the Germanwatch Climate Change Performance Index and the United Nations Environment Programme’s Emissions Gap Report. In addition, she has contributed to the design of climate policy processes and instruments under a transparency and accountability approach. As a representative of ICM, Mariana is part of international and regional networks such as the Climate Action Network (CAN) and the Independent Global Stocktaking Latin America and the Caribbean hub (iGST LAC hub).
Since 2011, Mariana has collaborated with international associations, research centres and non-profit organisations. In 2022, Mariana was Project Coordinator at Climate Transparency’s International Secretariat in Berlin, Germany, where she led the communication strategy of sixteen partners and co-authored the Climate Transparency Report 2022.
Mariana holds a degree in International Relations from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Ciudad de México (ITESM, CCM) and a Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Public Policy from the Centro de Investigación y Aprendizaje del Medio Ambiente (CIAMA).
